Mommochi walked across the beach, the sand still burning in between her toes from a long hot day. She had left her shoes back in her cabin, seeing as she was going to get drenching wet she didn't want to ruin them, especially since it meant buying a pair at the camp store. They didn't sell them cheep, either.
Mommochi also left her VIKING world tour sweatshirt along with her messenger bag. This was a beach, after all, and she wanted to go swimming instead of watching her siblings sleep all day. Not that sleeping was a bad thing, she enjoyed the dreams that came with it, but it was nice to get a change once in a while.

Alex walked out onto the beach, pulled off his shirt and sandals, leaving him in a pair of CHB Swim shorts from the camp store, before walking in to the water and then diving in. He was completely oblivious to the presence of another camper in the area as he happily splashed around in the waves.

Mommochi heard a splashing sound coming from the water, and turned over to see a fellow camper swimming, obviously unaware of her presence. She squinted, since he was at a distance, and recognized the camper as Alex. "Hey! Alex!!" she called over, waving.

Alex turned his head towards the voice and saw it was Mommochi calling to him. He swam to shore, got on to the sand and jogged over to his friend "How are you Mommochi?" he asked

"Hey, I'm doing fine. Decided to go swimming and all..." Mommochi stated, looking over at the sunset. "I see you decided the same?"

Alex shook his hair out sending water all over "Yeah, I love swimming. Back home I hit the pool every day of the summer. I guess I love the water as much as a child of Poseidon does."

"I don't blame you, especially now. The water's calm and everything." Mommochi yawned, not because she was tired but because her aura she inherited from her father Hypnos always made her. Like a dense cloud of sleeping gas. "I wish I didn't do that. I hate yawning." she stated. Mommochi tilted her head to the side when she heard little footsteps walking across the sand, then turned to see Sonza padding along.
The cat brushed itself alongside her leg, then paused to stare up at Alex. Her bright green eyes seemed to be deep in thought as she jumped up onto Mommochi's shoulder then shrank to the size of a canary.

Alex was fascinated by Mommochi's pet "Sweet." He held out his bare right arm and gave a sharp whistle. Within seconds Striker crested the nearby treetops, fluttered down and landed on Alex's outstretched arm. "Have you met Striker?" Alex asked

Mommochi looked at the falcon and smiled. "I have now. He's a beautiful bird, I love his eyes." she stated. Sonza tilted her head slightly, looking the falcon over to study it. Mommochi looked at the Lynx sitting on her should and chuckled. "She won't try to get at him, she doesn't attack anything that isn't given to her. I watched Sonza attack a rabbit I'd given to her, though it's not her favorite."
"It was food, good enough for me." Sonza stated, projecting her thoughts. "Besides, I don't pick fights."
Mommochi raised an eyebrow at Sonza, thinking it was strange that she actually said something to another person other than herself. Maybe she was actually trying to be social? The narrow-eyed look that Sonza gave her said otherwise. Mommochi shook her head at the animal, then turned to Alex and asked "How'd you get Striker?"

"I adopted him from a falconry in Montana. His silver streak was what caught my eye plus those amber eyes just hold one heck of a piercing gaze" Alex explained. "I have to say that my master is an amazing young gentleman." Striker said projecting his thoughts to both Mommochi and Alex.
Alex's jaw dropped "Striker, you've never talked to anyone but me before." The little bird twitched his head. "That's because you were the only person I could trust, I chose to speak because I see that you seem to trust this young woman." Striker explained

Sonza yawned and stretched out her paws before sitting back down onto Mommochi's shoulder. She looked directly at Striker for a moment before projecting her thoughts to only him. "She is very trustworthy, she saved my life a few moons ago and even replaced my claws so I can fight." Sonza lifted a paw and showed off her bronze claws.
"Yeah, I see why you chose him." Mommochi stated. "So he has speech as well, huh?"

"Yeah, Striker has been talking for a while, and until now he just talked to me." Alex told her. He then scratched his falcon on the head before Striker said "Alex, I'm going off night hunting. I'll be out for a while." Alex nodded "See you back at the cabin buddy." With that Alex raised his arm into the air, Striker released his talons and took off letting out a high pitched cry as he disappeared over the treetops

"Fast falcon." Mommochi stated as she walked towards the water. She stood looking out across its surface as Sonza looked down at the tiny fish that swam around her feet. "I wonder if the gods blessed the animals that demigods keep as pets?"

Alex looked at his loyal bird as he disappeared from view "I wouldn't be surprised if the gods have something to do with our pets other wise we wouldn't be able to do what we do with them." Alex looked back at the waves then to Mommochi "Wanna hit the water?" he asked

"I would say 'race yah', but that wouldn't be too smart seeing as you're an athletic kid." Mommochi stated with a smirk, chuckling slightly. "And as far as our pets go, I'm just glad we have them...it gets lonely here sometimes, even if this camp is full of demigods." Sonza leaped off her shoulder and bounded towards the water, growing to her normal size before diving into the waves. "Come on, before she steals all the water from us!" Mommochi laughed as she followed her Lynx's lead.
