Baldr headed for the range, with him was his two daughters and Sheila, they were all wearing matching black t-shirts and black cargo pants, all using compound bow of different colours (baldr black and white striped, his kids has bows matching their wing colours and sheila has a pink one, not due to the fact she is a girl but it is Baldr's active bow, the one he use when he works for his dad).
they all lined up with a perfect archer stance and started firing at the target, everyone using trick arrows, he watched as arrows turned to rainbows, flowers, water, showers of golden sparks, one even turned to a small bird who took of and flew away, he could not help but smile at his children, when he was their age he was already a battle hardened warrior, but his kids knew nothing of war, all their fighting skills came from him and their now dead mother teaching via playing, like this so called training was, get a perfect aim, perfect your stance, your firing timing, your fire rate, all while having fun,, he looked as one of the arrows turned to a heart and hit the target before erupting in to a shower of multicoloured light, he could not stop smiling, his children were having fun, they knew nothing of the horros he knew and if he was luck it would stay that way for some time longer

Alexeii sighed heavily to himself as he trudged his way to the archery field. Maybe, he figured, getting a little practice in would help not only with clearing his head but improving his rather lackluster archery skills. It wasnt the bows faukt or the arrows as both were well-crafted it was his sheer inability to keep his mind on what he was doing. The passing of his grandfather and no place on the outside to call home was weighing heavily on him.
All too soon he came to the archery field. He noted dully that it was already had people practicing. He couldnt remember the name of the one who was the oldest. Beyond that he was amazed at the sheer variety of arrows they used. "Not normal" wasnt even close. He swore he saw one turn into a bird and fly off!
Taking a deep breath he faced the row of targets and drew an arrow from the quiver. Knocking it he drew the string back and concentrated. sort of, as he watched a rainbow arrow out of the corner of his eye. Then he let go - failing to notice a lock of his hair was tangled in the fletching. A sharp pain in the side of his head followed by the arrow slapping him in the face returned his attention quickly. Alexeii began cursing loudly with every russian epithet he could remember.

Baldr heard the Russian swearing, it was one of the languages he could speak (when you dont sleep and stay 5 years more or less studying picking up languages kind of is not that big of a deal for Baldr since he is not locked in o the whole greek or latin stuff most demigods has)
he walked over to the swearing boy and smiled a fatherly smile that made him look older
while he was walking he was singing to himself he song "Endless Love" from the movie "the myth"
speaking in russian "do you mind not swearing, Alexei Nikloevitch Kuryakin my children is here" (he knows the full name thanks to baldr telling his dad he needed the power to see a "dating" profile when he saw a person so he could do his job better, names and stuff liked is on that list) he waved to the kids who was now shooting arrows that turned in to birds who seemed to be somewhat drawn to baldr
Baldr waved his hand at the boy's quiver and filled it with golden arrows "try it with those, they are...magical" he didnt bother stating they had a habit of finding humans and if used would do what any golden arrow of Eros would do, he figured why bother stating something like that when you can watch as the arrows get away from the target and turn invisible and go to spread love
meanwhile Sheila was now playing fetch the arrow with her pet, a japanese weasel that was sure it was a small dog

Alexeii was surprised that the man had spoken in Russian and was even more surprised that he never seen him coming. Still, after untangling the arrow from his hair and calming down a bit, he looked at the guy and , grinning sheepishly he replied, "My apologies. very frustrating this archery thing."
After Balder had changed his arrows and with a calm "Try these." He took an arrow from the quiver. he looked at quizzically as he had never seen an arrow as such. Alexeii pulled his hair back before very carefully nocking the arrow. he took a couple deep breaths before drawing the bowstring. then a heartbeat after he exhaled he let the arrow fly.
He followed the arrow----until it turned invisible. and was gone. It was a contest to see which hit the ground first, Alexeii's jaw or the bow. He turned and looked at Baldr and wordlessly pointed downrange with an exquisitely confused look on his face.
"Bohze moi!" He exclaimed..."I know I am a poor shot but it disappeared!"
Alexeii stared downrange as if looking for the arrow to suddenly show and come after him or turn into something.
