Baldr looked at the lake, something he was prone to do, it reminded him of home, he looked up at the sky, longing to spread his wings and fly like he used to do "if i do that they will do what we did wont they" he sighed to himself, he knew the person he talked to could not hear him, but it helped him think he sat down and kept looking at the lake, listening for the sound of people getting closer to him

Lance had been down by lake with Brutus when he saw a boy sitting down on the shore of the lake. He and Brutus walked over and Lance simply said "Hey dude, I'm Lance and this is my dog Brutus, what's your name?"

Baldr looked at the boy called Lance then at the dog, his natural aura made all animals love him, just one of the many good sides of being the child of Eros, tho he wondered how the dog would react to the smell of his pets tho it had been years since his dad had taken away his wild wolves, so if the dog smelled them it was a miracle worker"Baldr Love" he stood up and stretched, as he did his wings showed up and was once more gone "you are a son of Mars if i smell you right"(if you had been roman he would have used Ares) he gave a warm smile "i am Eros's son"

"I think you have your Mythology mixed up my friend. I am a son of Ares, if I were a roman demigod, then I'd be a son of Mars." Lance held out his hand to shake and Brutus spoke "He smells like wild dogs, master." Lance smiled and told him "He's fine, boy, calm down" Brutus just sat down on hind legs and transformed to human form.

Baldr looked at Brutus "not wild dogs, wolves" he shook his head "greek, roman" he sighed "your camp dont mix your different aspects" he closed his eyes "when you are used to what i am used to you dont bother with your" he shrugged "ares, mars, smells the same to me, war death, fights" he formed a lead arrow "hate" the arrow was gone after he said hate "cant get annoying smelling the right ones" he opened his eyes "so child of Ares, tell me this, what is the thing that wins wars?" he had a sly smile on his face like he had said this to other children of Ares in the past and he just recalled his own camp days (baldr looks 17 but is older, for some time he was in the lotus, and thanks to seeing the mist for what it is he kind of didnt get the whole time moving faster part of his stay)

Baldr nodded "from my experience you dont win wars, everyone loose, even those who win" he had a sad smile "for me the only way to win is not being in a war at all" he nodded "in the future when grandmother tells me to shoot you, i will miss" his way of saying you are ok, his grandmother is ahrodite so her orders to shoot would b love arrows not killing

Lance just picked up a stone and skipped it across the lake. "My dad raised me to be a warrior, if he tells me to kill something in a time of war, I will do it. To ask why we fight is to ask why the leaves fall. It's in our nature." Lance went on to explain. Brutus just crossed his arms and nodded his head.

Baldr sighed pulled up his shirt showing his scar "i know" it was brutal, going on his left side, it should have cut his heart in two, it stopped by his sternum, then he took down his shirt "minor camp, small group of demigods gathered in norway" he sighed "led by i guess he would be one of your brothers...who rebelled, he hated the gods...he and the camp is no longer around" he nodded "and that is why no one wins a war" he looked sad and far older "but then if it wasnt for that camp i would not be a dad now would i" he seemed to look in to the air "well most likely i would still be a dad"

Lance stared at his swords blade, "My life has been nothing but fights. I only fight to defend those who are close to me. I stand to protect my friends and family. I'm very kind most of the time, but threaten those I stand to protect, I become a vicious, merciless killing machine." Lance stood up and drove his sword into the soft ground, then sat down again

Baldr nodded then pulled out a charm bracelet from his left arm, it was around 40 hearts, all made from different metals, he unhooked one of the hearts and tossed it to Lance "a symbolof my dad, it is a one time deal, it means i owe you a favor, i do it to people i deem...ok" he smiled as the heart transformed to a boar head "and my dad approves of it, basically it just means if you piss of my...grandmother" he said the word like he really didnt mean it "and she orders me or dad to shoot you, well you get a free pass and you wont fall in love with....what ever she wants you to love" he unfolded his wings and flapped them a few times and then they were once more gone, fading away like a god who no longer wanted to live "but loose it and you owe him a favor, love is cruel, love is nice, our gifts come with both sides"

Lance looked at the boars head in his hands. "Thanks man." Lance slid his sword scabbard off his back and opened a small pouch. Inside was a small scroll, Lance ran his hand along it and it sprang to full size. "This scroll was written by Ares and Athena, it is also what Sun Tsu based his book "The Art of War" off of. I've carried it for years and learned everything on it. Now I want you to learn the true history of why man fights." Lance tied the scroll closed with a blood red and silver ribbon, spun it in his hands and held it out in front of him "Take it my friend."

he laughed a warm laugh "i am a history professor" he tried to clam his laugh but did not do so well "i spent years in the lotus, without being affected by that whole...messing with minds thing" he took a deep breath but feel over laughing "i was in a camp that held both romans and greeks" he got ahold of himself "i know why people fight, it is just when you loose your friends to your own hands, your master(died by his hands, is the reason he has the giant scar, he is alive cos he pissed offf or make gods happy to the point they spared him so he could live with the pain of war), your brother(died was on his side), your sister(his own hands, she was evil)" he took a deep breath "your girlfriend(not by his hands, but he blames himself since he would have won the fight she died in)" his face was pinkish but he had gotten a hold of himself "i dont fight anymore, if i have to protect my daughters" he drew his twin viking swords with expert skill before putting them away once more "i know how to fight, i am good at it, i just dont find my skills useful" he shrugged "i am older then i look, questing and fighting is a young man's fight, all i need is to age so i can take my job, then have it for like a few decades then join my father in the hunt" yes he is in his 20s and talks like he is in his 50s, and he laughed since to him it was just so absurd that someone would give him anything about why you fight

he spoke something in Latin then shook his head "i was trained as a warrior, i have given up that life" he waved his hand and the scroll was gone "i am a Erotes in training" he looked at the sky with longing as one of the hearts on his chain was gone "i gave up one of my favors to have it in my room, knowing dad it will end up in my Italy home" he shruged "i know it is not sane to have a home so near rome but it is a safe house, if i ever find myself near there i got a safe house to get weapons, food and sleep" he did not say he won it in a lottery and he had used his mum's name to claim it and when he got his wish he regained the house since his mum was in the eyes of the world dead, leaving him the sole heir of his family's stuff, he also left out he has never seen the house since it would be over run by monsters to fast for it to be any good
