Damien gave a symapthetic look at Macavity. He hadn't, ment to make Mac worry like that. What the child of chaos saw small tears had been formed in his friend's eyes, he ignored the fact they were holding hands, and hugged the son of Erebus instead. He held the other tight and burried his face in Mac's shoulder.

Macavity's head instinctively moved so they were cheek to cheek. Damien's body heat was comforting in the cold of night.
Some words from Phantom of the Opera hit him hard- Pitiful creature of darkness, what kind of life have you known? God gave me courage to show you- you are not alone.
A few tears fell on Damien's shaggy hair, and Macavity wanted to kiss them away... but it was not his place...

Damien felt warm in the embrace. Darkness and chaos together like this. Who would have guessed? He wished he could show Macavity how much he really cared, but he knew he shouldn't. He couldn't. Even this hug probably wasn't supposed to be happening. Yet here they were. Damien wondered how long it would be before Macavity would figure out about this crush and reject him, like others did. He decided it would be better to get things over with sooner than later.
The Eris camper mustered up all the courage he had and decided he had to say something. He struggled with the words, and they came out as a stuttered whisper. "I-i...I l-lov-like y-you...um..a-alot...." Damien managed to say. He then shut his eyes tight and started biting down on his lower lip as he braced himself for the very worst.

Macavity pulled away a bit... He... He likes me? Loves me? It was unbelievable. He drank in the sight of him, and-
He kissed him. Straight on the mouth, and he liked it very much. Macavity liked HIM very much.
It was shorter than he intended it to be, but when it ended, he replied to the boy of chaos.
"I love you more," the darkness child whispered. "More than you will ever know, Damien."

'Oh no, here it comes...' Damien thought as he felt Macavity pull away from him. As he waited for the rejection and yelling to start, a sensation of warm and light pressure on his lips started to register in his head. There was no yelling. No hatred or disgust. Damien's eyes snapped open as Macavity ended their kiss. It hadn't lasted long, but it was enough to send the Eris camper's heart racing and his head reeling.
Now Macavity was telling him something. What was he saying? Love? Did Damien hear that right? Someone actually loved him back!? The shaggy haired teen launched himself at the child of darkness in excitement and joy, wrapping his arms around the other as he did so. They toppled to the ground from the momentum, and Damien was smiling so wide that someone might think his face was about to split in half.

Macavity was rather taken aback, but he just laughed joyously. The contents of the bags had spread out over the sidewalk, chocolate all over.
"Hey, darlin', you coulda given me a warning," he teased, not letting go of the chaos child.
The boys were grinning from ear to ear, not caring about anyone nearby. Damien's weight was a comfort, and his love, unexpected.
Darkness and chaos together... It was enough irony to make the gods facepalm.

"Hehe, sorry." Damien said, still grinning widely. after a few seconds of laying like this, Damien rolled off the other teen and started to pick up the things that had spilled out of the bag, and placed them back where they belonged. He was still smiling the whole time, and even started to hum to himself which was very unusual for him.

Macavity smiled, and when Damien rolled off him, he helped pick up the chocolate bars. A hum escaped Damien's lips, a lovely tenor.
"Hey, Damien? You have an awesome voice in you- what's your favorite song?" Macavity kissed the boy's forehead lovingly.

Damien blushed a bright red, and looked away quite embarassed. "Oh, I don't have a favorite song, I like alot of songs...though I guess right now my favorite would be the Woe, Is Me cover of Last Friday Night, originally by Katy Perry....and, I can't sing, not at all......" "Ah... I believe I've heard that cover, actually. It was an interesting rendition, but..." Macavity smiled at his, um, boyfriend (?) with a feeling of peace overcoming him.

Damien hid his face in the scarf Macavity had given him. "No, really I don't sing and I hate my voice. Some kids from the Apollo and Aphrodite cabin said so....they were the judges when the camp had a talent show once, needless to say it didn't turn out well because everyone seemed to think their talent was the best...and I never sing. Ever. Especially after that." He explained to the child of darkness. "Anyways," Damien said, changing the subject, "Umm...if I love you and you love me...then...what does that make us?........Boyfriends..?"

Macavity looked sadly at his boyfriend, and sighed outward. Pulling him into his arms, the darkness child explained...
"Vincent has no idea what he's talking about. He's just jealous, and he knows his singing voice will never be as crystal clear as yours."
The demigod swayed back and forth a bit in a rocking motion. "Yes, he and Alex both sing, but they're arrogant and conceited, and... not you. Besides-"
His grip tightened on Damien, and he nuzzled him reassuringly. "There's something not right in Camp... These moments away from it, with you, are the most precious."

Damien smiled, enjoying the warmth and comfort he felt being held in Macavity's arms. He listened to what his boyfriend had to say, then thought for a second before answering. "I've noticed something odd too...I can't exactly put my finger on it...but i mean, chaos is kinda my 'element', if you will....I've known for a while that something's been up...just no one wants to listen to me except my cabin mates...we all sense it...it's something brewing. Something bad. It'll cause trouble and probably destruction." He explained, looking away into space for a few seconds before looking back. "Do you think whatever's wrong has something to do with Vincent?" The child of chaos asked, tilting his head to the side as he waited for an answer. It seemed they forgot about the movies by now.

Macavity stopped rocking. Damien's question had shaken him to the core. Vincent. Aravind. Could he have...?
"I don't like pinning blame on anyone, but there's something about him... Ever since he came this year, and forged that damned spear, I've been getting this unnameable feeling of dread. I think he's going to try to do something stupid."
He shook his head, as if to clear away those kinds of thoughts.
"Ahh... Such negativity...... I guess it's a bit late to go see a movie, right, Damien?"

"Hmm...yeah, i guess it is kinda late..." Damien mumbled, his mind still focused on Vincent and the foreboding feelings around camp as well as Macavity's spoken thoughts on the subject.
At that moment, there was a movement in the shadows behind Damien. Darkness and chaos were being watched, and very possibly hunted by a monster of some sort.
((demigods out alone for a longish period of time? monsters are totes gonna find them lol))
