Adrianna nodded. "I see. When I was younger, my mom loved to tell me the myths behind the constellations. Never did I know that it would soon be my reality." She sighed and the memories started flowing back into her mind. A five- year-old Adrianna stared her in the face as her mother told her the stories before a kiss goodnight. A small smile found it's way onto her lips.

"My grandpa and I would sit outside for hours some nights. I always had some instrument in hand. The last night I spent stargazing with him was before I came to camp" Alex said as he adjusted the nosepiece on his glasses. Then an old memory came into his mind. 13 year old Alex, sitting out under the stars, drinking sodas with his grandfather. They would spot constellations together and Alex would play a few songs on whatever instrument he had on hand. The last song he played was The Entertainer . He smiled and when he noticed Adrianna smiling he asked "Stargazing bringing up memories?"

Adrianna looked up and nodded. "Yeah. Though some of them aren't quite memories I'd like to remember." She said with a frown. "I didn't exactly have 'the best childhood ever'," She cursed herself internally. She tried not to say more about her past. But somehow, they uncovered themselves like a mask, and her memories, the stranger behind it all. 'All' being the way she interacts with people now.

Alex looked over at Adrianna "Nobody ever has the best child ever, not even me. I had an average childhood. It was school, video games, extra cirriculars, and archery. Fun, but not perfect."

Adrianna sighed. "That's exactly what I'm saying. Except, I dropped out of school. . . For a stupid reason. I was never allowed to play video games, and for some reason, I still refrain myself from doing so. The only fun years I had were when I was four to nine. I would tell you more. . . But I'm obviously boring you." She buried her head in her hands, then looked up at the stars, trying to forget that day. . .

"No, go on. Keep talking Adrianna, you sparked my curiosity and now I wanna hear more." Alex said to her "In return, I'll tell you a little about me. How does that sound?"

Adrianna sighed. "At least now I know it won't be in vain." She said with sarcasm in her voice. "Before I came to Camp Half Blood, I went to this academy a few miles away. I had gotten in trouble for starting a food fight in the cafeteria. My mom was called and I was close to getting expelled. Turns out my that my principle was a hell hound. He attacked my mom and I. I defended myself with this sword he had over the fireplace in his office. It was too late to save my mom. . . she died there. That's when I dropped out of school. I was found by a satyr and here I am." She sighed. "He cut her in the rib. . . While I was selfish and completely forgot about her presence. I only defended myself.." She buried her head in her hands and felt tears threaten her eyes. She wiped them away and looked at the stars.

"I came to camp about a year ago, I was attacked by a scythean dracanae while I was hanging out with my best friend, he nearly died had a satyr not shown up and tossed me a longbow and arrow quiver. I notched and aimed it, I hit that scaly woman right between the eyes, I got her spear as a spoil of war." he explained "When I got hear with it, I had it tagged and stored in the attic."

Adrianna nodded. "I've been at camp for a few months now. I don't have many friends because I'm terribly shy. I hardly ever talk to anyone," She smiled awkwardly. "I sometimes wonder why I never went back to school. I think it's because of the hell hound incident. After that I just chose to stay at camp year-round." Adrianna had never told anyone this stuff before. She felt somewhat relieved to get it all off her chest.

Alex was always glad to tell stories of his past life. He put his arm around Adrianna and said "Consider me another friend here at camp."

Adrianna looked up slightly. "You really mean it?" She knew he probably did, but the insecurity of loneliness had gotten the best of her. She felt herself slowly relax under his arm. "Thank you" She said somewhat in a whisper.

"I mean it when I say that we're friends now. You're cool with me." Alex heard a sharp snapping noise and whipped his head towards the direction of the noise, sending his glasses into Adrianna's lap. He stood up, drew forth his bow and was about to notch an arrow when a sleep walking dryad walked past and right into the trees. Alex slid the arrow back into his quiver and his bow and arrows disappeared. He sat down again "Sleep walking dryad. That's new."

Adrianna looked behind her and giggled sightly. It had been a while since she laughed. "Never seen that before..." She picked up the glasses in her lap and smiled. "I think these are yours."

Alex took his glasses back "Thanks, without these I'm as blind as a bat out of my right eye." He slid his glasses back into place and zipped up his jacket. He reached under the stands and pulled out a small, blue, drawstring backpack. He opened it and pulled out a Pepsi and a Snickers bar. He looked at Adrianna "You want a soda or a candy bar?"

Adrianna pursed her lips and thought for a moment. "A pepsi, please." She put her hands in her pockets and messed with the knife. Being the clumsy person she is, she accidentally opened the small pocket knife and pricked her finger. "Oww.." She said in a scream yet in a whisper. "She pulled out her hand and studied the cut. It didn't look bad, so she stuck her hand back in her pocket.
